According to a source familiar with Amber Heard’s camp affairs, actress Ellen Barkin will be called as a defense witness in her ex Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against Heard. Barkin, 68, dated Depp, 58, for a short time in 1997 while filming “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.”
The relationship between Johnny Depp and Ellen Barkin:
Ellen rose to fame after starring in the movie Diner. She also starred in the hit movie Ocean’s Thirteen. Johnny and Ellen are said to have met while filming Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. According to Elle, she was nine years older than Johnny when they barely dated in 1999. From 1988 to 1999, Ellen was married to Gabriel Byrne, then from 2000 to 2006, she was the wife of Ronald Perelman. Between these two marriages, she had a link with the actor of Pirates of the Caribbean. After Ellen, Johnny dated Kate Moss and Vanessa Paradis before beginning a romance with Amber in 2012.

What Ellen Barkin said in the UK libel case:
Barkin is due to appear by videoconference at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia, despite Depp’s side dismissing her as a bitter old flame. She and Heard became friends. Barkin testified in the UK libel suit that Depp threw a bottle of wine at him during a heated argument. She further indicated that no one was injured as the bottle did not hit anyone. Depp disputed the accusation, stating that she had a vendetta against him. Heard has had Barkin on his witness list since March. The ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ actress was the fourth wife of billionaire banker Ron Perelman, but the couple had a tumultuous divorce, with Perelman accusing her of embezzlement.
What can we expect from the remaining trial:
Interestingly, neither of Heard’s or Depp’s ex-partners have yet been called to testify, so Barkin will be the first. For those living under a rock, Johnny Depp has sued his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million over defamation allegations stemming from his Washington Post op-ed. Heard countersued Depp for $100 million, and the public broadcast of the trial became an online sensation, with fans and onlookers following the proceedings closely. Amber Heard will speak for the second time on Monday. This time around, the actress is expected to be cross-examined by Depp’s attorneys, and many Depp fans are eagerly awaiting her to set the record straight.
