City of Colorado Springs to Host Free Workshop on Tenant Rights February 8

COLORADO SPRINGS – The City of Colorado Springs invites residents to “Renter Rights 101,” a free online information session on Tuesday, February 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Attendees will learn from Colorado Legal Services on a wide variety of topics such as lease basics, reasonable accommodations and modifications, Fair Housing Act protections, filings, repairs, and evictions.

The Justice Center, Pikes Peak Library District, Colorado Housing Connects and city staff will share available local resources and materials on housing issues.

The City of Colorado Springs Community Development Division works with Colorado Legal Services, Pikes Peak Library District, Justice Center, and Colorado Housing Connects. These sessions are made possible through funds from the Community Development Block Grant.

The workshop will offer general information to tenants and cannot provide specific legal advice. Low-income residents or seniors facing a housing issue can contact Colorado Legal Services at 719-471-0380 for legal assistance.

The Pikes Peak Library District also provides a comprehensive list of legal resources for residents seeking forms, databases and legal help.
