MANILA, Philippines – Senator Leila De Lima on Saturday criticized the alleged red labeling of a lawyer based in Zambales province on a Facebook page that pushed the National Task Force’s campaigns to end the local communist armed conflict.
De Lima lamented how lawyer Carlos Castillo Jr. was labeled a terrorist by the âLakbay Kapayapaanâ Facebook page.
âFor responding to the call for urgent legal assistance from the arrested young activists, Atty. Castillo is now labeled a terrorist, âshe said.
Castillo is the lawyer for 11 members of the League of Filipino Students who were arrested at a checkpoint in Zambales on their way to a Labor Day rally in Angeles City on May 1.
