EdSarrthi started in September 2020 during the lockdown when the Edtech sector was booming with a lot of funding coming from the investor. For 1.5 years the start was Primed and managed to get 7000 paying customers on his learning app. During this period, the startup has more than 1,000 unique visitors on its web portal and application with an average 12 minute engagement time.
The Union Civil Service Commission (UPSC) recently announced the final results of the UPSC Civil Service Examination 2021, 685 students were entered into the merit list, including 36 students were selected through EdSarrthi. Their 6 students ranked in the Top 50 at All India level and 9 students in the Top 100. Founder Varun Jain said “This is a great achievement for us. We are focused on providing our students with what we need, I am confident that we will Perform harder in the years to come”.
In the era of online education, the study content has multiplied enormously, creating “Problem of Abundance for Students”. The abundance problem means that a student has several sources from which to study, but is unable to choose the right source. It also means a situation where students collect a lot of information, but do not know how to use it in exams. It’s the Exact problem, EdSarrthi solves through its mentorship initiative.
Recently, the Edtech sector has been facing a profitability challenge leading to layoffs among the main Edtech players. Co-founder Prafful Agarwal, MBA from HULT, San Francisco said “Society had a Positive cash flow over the past 1.5 years and has now raised funds to further scale up operations. We are here to build a Sustainable business meet the aspirations of investors, employees and customers.
With the opening of offline coaching centers, EdSARRTHI plans to switch to the Hybrid model through its CoStudy Physical Spaces led by EdSARRTHI Mentors. Co-founder Prafful Agarwal, says “The problem of abundance will grow with the growth of content-based Edtech businesses. We plan to offer our services in SCP Status and other competitions in the near future.”
The startup has also rolled out its plan to forge partnerships with various public and private institutions. In the case of a public institution, the focus is on providing quality mentoring in remote areas, while in the case of a private institution, it is mentoring at an age early.
