Femme It Forward has taken the next step in its efforts to empower women and help make the entertainment industry more inclusive with Monday’s announcement that applications are now open for the premier Next Gem Femme mentorship program.

The next Gem Femme will connect 200 young women of color mentees with women leaders and entrepreneurs in music, media, entertainment, technology and social justice. At least half of the mentee spots will go to current students or alumni of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

The one-year mentoring program will provide increased opportunities for young women of color in the workforce through exposure to real-time projects, one-on-one coaching, CV creation lessons, knowledge and expertise from the workforce. industry and relationship building.

The application period starts on Monday and ends on June 4. Mentors and mentees will be matched in June and July before the program launches in August.
