Lakeside Vacation with Driving Tree Lighting Ceremony

MUSKEGON, MI – The holiday season is officially underway, and the Muskegon’s Lakeside District Association is celebrating with the 17th Annual Lakeside Vacation.

On Saturday, December 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., people are invited to shop for the holidays at local businesses and participate in a raffle for a basket of goodies from area retailers.

For children, there will be a Letters to Santa mailbox at Lakeside Pocket Park on Lakeshore Drive.

This year’s event has some changes due to COVID-19.

The tree lighting celebration will only be done while driving to ensure safe social distancing. Participants are requested to park their vehicle in the car park in front of Pocket Park for the ceremony at 6 p.m.

A food drive is also organized for the local non-profit Mission for the inhabitants of the region. Donations can be dropped off at the BananaDog Gallery and Art Cats.

Holidays in Lakeside reminds people to meet COVID-19 purchasing requirements during the event.

“Wear a mask correctly and with reduced capacity indoors, please only attract buyers to our businesses,” a Facebook post for the event stated.
