Law firm cannot stay insurers’ lawsuit over fraud investigation fees

By Christopher Crosby (September 27, 2021, 4:31 p.m. BST) – A London judge has blocked a lawyer from delaying attempts by insurers to recover £ 816,000 ($ 1.1 million) paid out in multiple real estate transactions, claiming that ‘he can challenge the findings as the case progresses.

High Court Judge Richard Meade rejected Nadeem Khan’s request to stay the insurers’ lawsuit to recover the money they paid to settle the claims brought against Khan and his law firm by the loan providers mortgages that he had represented and allegedly defrauded.
