Hello and welcome to Equity, a podcast about startup activity, where we unpack the numbers and nuances behind the headlines.
We had the whole team on board today, led by our exceptional production team Grace and Chrisand the reception team Mary Ann, Natasha and alexander. What have we gotten ourselves into? Well, a bunch of pretty cool stuff, even though we had to leave Cute Farming Robots in the tank for a few more days:
- We’ve had funding rounds from Anyplace, which is building a way to make digital nomad life work in a WFH world, notes on Frost Giant’s Series A, which Alex really needs to finish writing, and Parthean, which Natasha covered and did a great job explaining. Here’s to better financial literacy in general. We need it.
- Next, we discussed what Mark Cuban is up to with his generic drug game, which we think is both brilliant (cheaper drugs for people who need them!) and somewhat sad (how are we doing? got here as a society?). Which of course led us into a conversation about public and private money and the role billionaires play in reshaping society.
- The next step was a YC
checkoutDAO which raises money from accelerator graduates to invest in cyrpto startups. So it’s a founder’s working capital, isn’t it? Sort of.
- MENTOR COLLECTIVE
And it’s the end of another busy week. Good luck in the snow if it comes your way!
