Mohali couple reunite after 9-year separation during Lok Adalat session

Following a series of sessions in the pre-Lok Adalats and counseling at the National Lok Adalat, a couple who had been living apart for nine years, agreed to reunite.

The deal was made during Lok Adalat on Saturday in Mohali. The couple had the opportunity to interact directly and resume a healthy dialogue.

The Lok Adalat session was held under the chairmanship of RS Rai, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Mohali Nagar. Arun Gupta and Dr Mandeep Mittal, Member and Additional Member Secretary of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority respectively also participated.

A total of 17,016 cases were treated during the national Lok Adalat. Of these, 3,818 cases were concluded by mutual compromise; a cumulative amount of ??5,61,99,55,703 was exceeded by the various banks of Lok Adalat.

Baljinder Singh, secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, discussed the benefits of Lok Adalat.
