Scale7, the first fashion and design business incubator in Qatar – founded by the Qatar Development Bank (QDB) in partnership with M7 – has opened its doors to applications for the Incubation Program, the pioneering incubation initiative of organization, training and mentoring.
The program, designed to offer workshops, coaching and mentoring to a number of selected startups, plans to support designers during the idea phase with a minimum viable product (pre-income) via coaching sessions to test their ideas and receive feedback before market launch. . The most successful startups will be shortlisted for the acceleration program.
The program enriches the current fashion ecosystem in Qatar by investing in local designers and fashion startups at their ‘idea stage’ and transferring relevant knowledge and skills to see them succeed in the market .
To be part of the program, startups must be in the pre-income phase with MVP, therefore not currently generating substantial income. They should also be active in fashion and design and should have great market potential.
At the launch of the program, Aysha Khalifa al-Romaihi, Head of Strategic Initiatives and Business Collaborations at QDB and Project Manager of Scale7, said: “The incubation program aims to meet the growing demand for innovative companies based on entrepreneurship in Qatar and the Region. Scale7 takes a unique approach to conducting its incubation program, which not only focuses on technical training and education, but also helps participants assess the commercial viability and social impact of their business. “
“We are working with various institutions in Qatar and beyond to ensure the program is delivered in a creative and interactive way. We are delighted to host the first wave of the incubation program and we invite aspiring entrepreneurs to join us and actively contribute to the creative growth of Qatar. entrepreneurial ecosystem, ”she added.
Entrepreneurs interested in participating in the program will be entitled to smart funding and in-kind support. These entrepreneurs will benefit from ongoing mentorship from global experts as well as an opportunity to attend informative workshops.
In addition, privileged attendees will also have access to immense networking opportunities with industry experts from the fashion and technology innovation ecosystem. The program will include eight workshops, two lecture series, six hours of FTA coaching for each start-up as well as 6 hours of international mentoring.
The program will start on September 13 and end on November 29. The deadline for applications will be September 1, followed by the selection day for qualified applications.
